Former Triton baseball standout and softball assistant coach Josh Beauregard enters his third season at the helm of the Eckerd softball program after taking the reigns prior to the 2008 season.

In 2009, Beauregard's squad improved by 13 games, winning 21 contests after compiling just eight victories in 2007. Thanks to a slew of newcomers, including freshman outfielders Amanda Kolonick, Emma Docking, and Alex Sasso, the Tritons set a new program record for wins in a single season. The 09' squad can also point to its improved pitching staff as an aid to its record-breaking win total as a combination of Alex Koronkiewicz and Mackenzie Dawson helped Eckerd reduce its earned run average by more than a run and a half from that of 2008.

The Eckerd College alum was a valuable member of the Tritons baseball program, playing four years under Head Coach Bill Mathews, and graduating in 2003 with a degree in Business Management and Athletic Administration.

After the conclusion of his baseball career at Eckerd, Beauregard was drafted in 2003 by Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics where he played in the minor leagues as a centerfielder while helping lead the Tritons' softball team.
