HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate she played for Coach Joan Rackey at Albert Einstein High School in Silver Spring, Maryland ... a multi-sport player, Cory was named captain of her soccer team in 2005 and 2006 and was named to the All County Honorable Mention three straight years and a member of the All-County First Team her senior year. She also earned significant awards in Lacrosse and Basketball, where she was on the AAU Championship Team in 2006.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Bill Hawkins and Bobby Schaeffer ... born March 31st ... majoring in environmental studies ... has one brother, Paul (18) … she lists her favorite athlete as her brother and she has two favorite teams: the Washington Freedom and the US Women’s National Team … Cory enjoys playing pick-up games in any sport, listening to music and coaching … she feels her field vision and fearlessness help her contribute to the Tritons … when she graduates from Eckerd she looks to train dolphins in Jamaica … she chose Eckerd because she loves the beach, the warm weather and soccer.
