HIGH SCHOOL: Samford attended McGehee High School where she lettered in volleyball all four years under head coach Val Whitfield-Dunn.  She was named to the LHSAA All-State Academic Team in 2006 and 2007

PERSONAL: Born May 9, 1989…she is undecided in her major…she has a long history of family members in professional sports including her grandfather Ron Samford, baseball player for both the New York Giants and Washington Senators from 1948-1963, and her father, Ron Samford Jr. who played football for Texas Tech University from 1970-1973...her favorite hobbies are art and photography…favorite athlete is Frank Lampard.  An avid fan of soccer her favorite team is the Chelsea Football Club.  She is the daughter of Ron and Carol Samford and has one sister, Jordan. She says that she chose Eckerd because of its location and academic selection.
