Facilities at Ransom Arts

While we await the construction of our bold, new Visual Arts center, our current facilities include a drawing and painting studio, a small press for printmaking, a ceramics studio, and a multi-media lab for video, digital photography, graphic design and sound design. Equipment is available for working in welded sculpture, and we have an opportunity for students to learn glassblowing at the Duncan McClellan Glass Studio in St. Petersburg. We also have semi-private studio spaces accommodating up to 20 residential students working in a variety of media (upperclass students have priority). With the exception of Duncan McClellan Glass, all studio facilities are accessible to qualified students 24 x 7.

The Cobb Gallery is centrally located on campus, and serves as a showcase for our spring senior thesis exhibitions and the Sophomore Show, as well as featuring exhibitions by local, regional, faculty and alumni/ae artists, and an annual exhibition highlighting works from the college permanent art collection. It is open throughout the academic year; regular hours are Monday through Friday, 10:30 to 4:30. See the events page for our exhibition schedule.
