Eckerd College to Host Fall 2007 Co-ed Atlantic Coast Championships

Eckerd College has been selected to host the Co-ed Atlantic Coast Championships in the fall of 2007, thanks in large part to the completion of the Jacob’s Family Challenge.  With the completion and success of the Jacob’s Challenge, the Eckerd Sailing Team will be taking delivery on a new fleet of 20 collegiate FJ’s in the coming months, which enables Eckerd to host larger events, such as the Atlantic Coast Championships.

The Co-ed ACC’s is one of the premier events of the fall season and attracts the top 18 schools from the East Coast Conferences of NEISA, MAISA and SAISA.  Each Conference on the Eastern seaboard qualifies the top teams in their conference to attend this fall championship, which showcases many current and future All-Americans.  The 2-day event will be the first major championship held at Eckerd since 1999, when Eckerd hosted the ICSA National Championships.
