Watersports Camp

Waterfront Program

Kayaking (Ages 8-15)

Kayaking has become a very popular activity. It's great exercise and it is an exciting way to enjoy the serenity of the water and get close enough to watch marine life without disturbing the environment. We use a "sit on top" style of sea kayak that is stable and easy to learn on, and we begin with basic paddling techniques and maneuvering through courses. Each day the group sets out from Frenchman's Creek to explore a different area of Boca Ciega Bay, including local beaches and islands that provide a haven for birds and other types of marine life.
