Want to learn to sail a bigger boat? Try this class that is taught aboard a 26' Colgate Sloop. After a brief time in the classroom, a maximum of six young sailors head out to the open waters of Boca Ciega Bay to learn the basics of sailing. The larger boat demands a higher level of teamwork and the instructor on board helps refine individual sailing skills while at the same time, teaches the group how to work together. Each person on board gets the opportunity to control the boat as the skipper while the rest of the group participates as their crew. This class can be a great introduction to the joy of sailing or for a seasoned small boat sailor; this is an opportunity to experience a new perspective on the sport!
