January 20, 2006January 20I get the feeling that people are a lot more relaxed here. They take their time for stuff, enjoy life, and don't always seem to have to rush off to something. Allison C. People watch about as much soccer down here as we watch football. Justin V. I came here knowing no one and I feel like I have made a lot of friends, seen a lot of beautiful places, and learned a lot about a culture completely different from my own. Lacey C. January 19, 2006January 19Carlos—I love that guy. Dave S. It is interesting to see how the brain deals with learning a language. I have decided that my English is getting worse while my Spanish is expanding. Amelia B. Our teachers Silvina and Natalia were extremely friendly and easy to comprehend. They spoke very slowly and enunciated well for the class. I found the review extremely helpful to refresh the language in my head. Chris W. I'm really loving it here now. I kinda don't want to go back to Eckerd. Laura Y. Me encanta Argentina. Nikki R. January 18, 2006January 18It was some of the most delicious meat I've eaten in my life. (describing an Argentine asado or BBQ) Brittany B.
La amabilidad de la gente aquí nunca dejará de sorprenderme. Te amo Argentina. Thalia L. Very relaxed culture. I'm really enjoying my time here in Argentina. Asti L. I would venture to guess that the quality of life is much better here because everybody is laid back. Melissa B. The daily excursions are exciting. I look forward to them, Carlos knows how to show us a good time. Jack B. January 17, 2006January 17I LOVE SIESTAS. Susie S. At home my friends and I go to the PBR (Professional Bull-Riding) but this was something better. It was truly and awesome experience. (Describing the Jesus Maria Festival and Rodeo) David W. We ate 3 bread baskets between 4 people. It is true that Americans eat more and they eat faster. Brittany B. The McDonald's down here does something interesting. A girl comes up to in line and takes your order then gives you a ticket that the guy at the register looks at and rings it up. It seemed to be a much faster process than in America. Dave S. I really appreciate Natalia, my professor, and her ability to teach. She keeps a great sense of humor while teaching which helps me to be more courageous in speaking Spanish out loud. Amelia B. The owners of the shops are real nice and do not hesitate to meet you and let you try things on. I feel that they care more for their business and take pride in their work. Justin V. At this point I am really enjoying the opportunity to immerse myself into another culture for an extented period of time as it has certainly ameliorated my Spanish. Chris W. I realized that I am going to miss Argentina when we have to leave. Michelle W. Mis profesoras Sonia y Silvina son fantásticas. Nikki R. January 16, 2006January 16I pass the man in the pharmacy and the man in the kiosco by my apartment, and they both exchange a friendly "Hola" with me. We all know each other well by now. Brittany B. At the Blue Lagoon I met a group of friends from Argentina, Daniela and Veronica. They were so incredibly friendly. Even though I could barely speak any Spanish to them they were still happy to talk to me and interested in what I was doing. Caroline S. I really like that you can walk everwhere in the city instead of driving. Michelle W. I enjoy my daily walk to class. The normality and schedule of it makes me feel like I belong here and am more than just a Floridian student here for a month. I recognize the same people and notice new ones. Jack B. January 15, 2006January 15Carlos and his sister were very accommodating and nice to everyone. They were sweet and made sure everyone was safe and happy. Brittany B. I am just glad that although they may dislike our government they don't dislike the people. That was one of my fears, but everyone has been friendly. Caroline S. When we arrived at the waterfall I literally just stopped and stared with my mouth open. I never thought that it was going to be so incredible. I felt like I was in something you only see in postcards and movies. Melissa B. January 14, 2006January 14This was the most scenic drive of my life. (Describing Candonga, Argentina which is located in the Sierra Chicas) Brittany B. Some of the most amazing scenery I've seen yet. (also describing Candonga) David W. During the bus ride I saw the most beautiful sights I have ever been exposed to. Chris W. I wish people in the US were more open about learning about other cultures. Courtney K. I can honestly say I have never tasted crisper air, although it did feel like I was breathless for hours starring off into a utopia of emerald green forests. Chris W. I feel like everwhere we go it just gets more and more beautiful. I love how the people here always welcomes us with open arms— January 13, 2006January 13Eating is not something to just purely sustain yourself. Eating is a time for relaxation and being with friends and family. Caroline S. The people are so friendly. They will ask if you like Cordoba and will tell you about their favorite places in the mountains. Courtney K. Everyone here takes things at a slower pace, eats later and for a longer period of time. It's hard to get used to, but I'm sure once I do I will not want to go back to the fast pace of eating and running. I also appreciate the siestas and meriendas (afternoon snack) taken here. Enjoying life slowly is always better than going so fast that you don't have time to notice it. Laura Y. January 12, 2006January 12The tango was amazing. The dance was beyond description. January 10, 2006January 10I really enjoy both my teachers very much. They are easy to understand as well. Chris W. We've Arrived in ArgentinaJanuary 6We are in Argentina having a great time.
