Reflective Service-Learning

Reflective Service-Learning broadens your worldview

We’re so convinced of the transformative power of giving that we ask every student to do 40 hours of service before graduation. You and your classmates might paint a mural for a nearby nursing home or create a marketing plan for the Tampa Zoo through our Office of Service-Learning. These experiences are built into the Reflective Service-Learning classes we offer in every major.

Unlike volunteering or community service, these classes emphasize the connection between meaningful service and learning. Participants combine service with written reflection. The idea is not to just do something good but to think about the social, political, and economic issues at play in your service project.
