Kristin L. Stewart joined Eckerd in 2019. The courses she teaches include Animals and Popular Culture, Introduction to Animal Law, and Cross-Cultural Animal Studies. In addition to teaching, Kris is a Florida attorney and serves on the board of directors of the Animals and Society Institute. Her academic interests include animal geographies and animal law, policy, and ethics. Kris’ favorite things include conversations with students about why they love animals and how they think we ought to live in our more-than-human world. When she’s not teaching, Kris enjoys spending time with her husband Ben, her ball-crazy canine Merlin, and her old, pudgy, heterochromatic kitty Leeloo.
