The Financial Aid Office<\/a> determines a student\u2019s eligibility for financial aid, makes an award and disburses the financial aid to the student\u2019s account.\u00a0\u00a0 The Bursar\u2019s Office is responsible for the billing and collections of tuition and fees and processing refunds.<\/p>\n

When will I receive my bill and when is it due?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fall billing is usually available online by June 25 and the spring billing is available by December 2. Payment due dates here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What method of payments does the College accept?
\n<\/strong>
\nThe College accepts personal checks, third-party checks, credit and debit card payments, ACH payments and bank wire transfers.\u00a0 Credit, debit and ACH payments are accepted online only.<\/p>\n

What if I am paying with a 529 plan (State or Private).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eckerd College does accept payments from 529 plans. Once you have submitted your request for payment to your 529 plan manager, forward your confirmation details to include amount and date of requested funding to the student accounts office at studentaccounts@eckerd.edu<\/a> and the anticipated payment will be added to your students billing and payment details for the coming semester. Without confirmation details, anticipated payments from 529 funding cannot and will not be annotated on the students billing account. This could result in late fees and finance charges depending on the length of time to receive payments, so it is very important to send your payment confirmation details as soon as possible so accounts can be updated accordingly.<\/p>\n

Is there a fee charge for a credit card payment?<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a 3.0% convenience fee assessed when you make a debit or credit card payment.\u00a0 The College does not receive any part of the convenience fee; the fee will appear as a separate transaction on the card holder\u2019s billing statement.<\/p>\n

Debit and credit card payments are accepted online only through the student\u2019s ebill account.<\/p>\n

Why was I charged a late fee?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A late fee of $85 is assessed on all payments received after the first semester bill due dates. In addition, a monthly finance charge at a rate of 1% is assessed on all outstanding balances after each billing due date.<\/p>\n

Does the College offer a payment plan?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The College does offer a monthly payment plan administered through the Eckerd eBill site, offered by TouchNet. The payment plan will allow you to make 5-monthly payments each semester to cover the balance due after scholarships, grants, loans, and any 529 or third party billing payments anticipated, after submitting documentation to the Student Accounts Office. To enroll in the monthly payment plan a student or their authorized user simply logs into the eBill site and enrolls in the available plan for the semester. Student must first issue access to parents on the billing site to allow them to enroll in the payment plan option and their is an instruction guide located on the Bursar’s main landing site. \u00a0There is a $40 application fee to enroll in the payment plan each semester.<\/p>\n

How do I access my account on-line?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You may access your online account through EC Experience<\/a>, once you have logged in you will find the link to eBill account on the Bursar\u2019s office card.<\/p>\n

How can I change my meal plan?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please notify the housing office of your meal plan change request. They will update your meal plan choice on your housing application, which will update on your billing site typically within 1 business day. You may change your meal plan during the first two weeks of each semester only<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Manage and monitor your meal plan account online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I do not want a meal plan, what should I do to have the charge removed?<\/strong><\/p>\n

All students living in residence halls except for Omega, must participate in a meal plan.\u00a0 This requirement ensures that students are meeting necessities for proper nutrition while having the opportunity to engage socially with their peers over shared meals.<\/p>\n

If I do not use all of my meals will I be refunded?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Unused meals and flex dollars are not refundable and expire at the end of each semester.<\/p>\n

How can I use my financial aid to purchase books?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students with excess financial aid may charge books to their student account by completing the \u201cBookstore Authorization\u201d form.\u00a0 You may download the form from our forms page<\/a>, once the form is completed and returned to the Bursar\u2019s office it normally takes 24 hours for approval.\u00a0 Students will receive an email notification when approved and the amount approved. This option is not available for the short term (Autumn and Winter). The authorization form must be completed each semester.<\/p>\n

When will my financial aid be applied to my account and when will I receive my refund?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Financial Aid funds are disbursed to the student account after the end of add\/drop period of each semester. Refunds generated by financial aid funds are not available until after enrollment is confirmed and all financial aid is disbursed.\u00a0 Students must complete a Title IV Authorization form which can be downloaded from the Bursar\u2019s webpage under the forms tab; \u00a0you will be notified by email when your check is ready to pick-up.<\/p>\n

How can I use my work-study to pay my balance?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Work-study funds are paid directly to students, via payroll. Students can log into their E-bill site and make payment on their bill using standard banking payments at no cost from the account where their work-study funds are deposited.<\/p>\n

Why is my account on hold if I have scholarship and financial aid?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A hold is placed on an account when there is a past due balance or if the balance is not covered by financial aid.\u00a0 Until the balance is paid the hold will remain on your account, you may contact the Bursar\u2019s office to satisfy the hold.<\/p>\n

Where do I obtain proof of enrollment for insurance purposes?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Proof of enrollment may be obtained from the Registrar\u2019s Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I have a complex damage charge on my account, how do I find out what this is for?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You may contact Housing<\/a> at 727.864.8421<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I do not understand my bill, who can I contact for further explanation?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am not registered and I do not plan to return for next semester, why am I receiving a bill for next semester?<\/strong><\/p>\n
