The Director of the Center for Spiritual Life and Chaplain is primarily concerned with the spiritual lives of students and, along with the Associate Chaplain, is a pastor to the entire Eckerd Community. The Chaplain directs the Student Coordinators program. A generous endowment from the late Mr. Jack Eckerd supports through stipend and program funding this group of student leaders who provide spiritual life programming on campus.
The Center for Spiritual Life is overseen by the Director of the Center for Spiritual Life and Chaplain, whose responsibilities include the programs of the Center. Among other tasks, the Director of the Center for Spiritual Life and Chaplain administers The Center’s popular lecture series, relates to local churches and faith-based organizations, especially the Presbyterian Church (USA), to whom the college is related by covenant, and maintains programs that connect students with religious bodies off campus.
The Coordinator of the Colloquy leads the Faculty Fellows in selecting topics and preparing for discussions.
The Catholic Campus Minister and the Campus Rabbi address the needs of Eckerd Catholic and Jewish communities, respectively.
