Her research focuses on making the world healthier and more equitable through work in environmental health and justice, with particular attention to climate-related hazards such as hurricanes and wildfires. She combines spatial epidemiology, infectious disease risk prediction, and algorithm development for satellite mapping of land cover and land-use change to better understand how environmental exposures shape health outcomes.<\/p>\n
      \n

      Her recent work examines the intersection of natural hazards and technological risks (Natech disasters), as well as the health impacts of hurricanes along the Florida Gulf Coast. She believes that the best health and environmental research outcomes arise when projects prioritize community knowledge and expertise, and when scientists, activists, community members, and policymakers work together toward just solutions. She has authored publications in\u00a0GeoHealth,\u00a0Remote Sensing of Environment,\u00a0International Journal of Infectious Diseases<\/em>, and\u00a0Environmental Research Letters<\/em>.<\/p>\n
