What is a large pet?<\/h3>\n

Cats, dogs (under 60 pounds), rabbits, large birds, ferrets, and chinchillas are considered Large Pets, and must be properly registered with Pet Life before residing on campus. Large pets can only reside with students in Large Pet Housing. Students may only have one Large Pet. The acquisition of a dog or cat, purchased, fostered, adopted, or stray, while a residential student at Eckerd is prohibited.<\/strong><\/p>\nRegister your Large Pet<\/span><\/a>[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”48″][vc_column_text]\n

What is a small pet?<\/h3>\n

Fish, small birds, rats, hedgehogs, hamsters, sugar gliders, gerbils, guinea pigs, amphibians, and small reptiles are considered Small Pets and must be properly registered with the Pet Life Staff before residing on campus. Small Pets can be registered online or in the Pet Life Office located in Brown Hall. Small Pets are permitted in all housing complexes. Small pets can resident with students in any residence hall. What is a visiting pet?<\/h3>\n

Pets that fit within the Pet Policy may brought onto campus for day visits. This includes family pets being brought onto campus by parents, siblings, guardians, etc. for any period of time. Visiting pets are not allowed to reside on campus overnight without prior approval. All Visiting Pets must be registered with Pet Life, prior to being brought on campus.
