The Eckerd College Emergency Management Team is monitoring a system in the Gulf of Mexico currently called Tropical Cyclone One (likely to become Tropical Storm Alex later today). It is expected to make landfall on Saturday south of Fort Myers and have no significant impacts to our area. There is potential for heavy rainfall and localized flooding in Pinellas County.
Eckerd College’s Emergency Management Team will continue to monitor the system. We will send updates if College operations are expected to change. For now, College operations remain normal. Stay informed by checking eckerd.edu/tropical.
