So, Morrison visited him in the hospital.<\/p>\n

Morrison said he hoped the dedication could serve as encouragement for Orie, who was diagnosed with cancer last semester and is currently undergoing treatment. \u201cI wanted my performance to be a beacon of hope,\u201d Morrison said.<\/p>\n

Morisson also discussed efforts to see whether Orie might be able to attend the performance. \u201cThe goal was for him to be ready for the show,\u201d he said. Although Orie\u00a0 was unable to attend, Morrison said meeting him beforehand was meaningful. \u201cMeeting him was an impactful moment,\u201d he said. \u201cHe reminded me of myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an interview with him before the show, Morrison described a shift in how he is approaching these live performances, focusing on intentional engagement with audiences.<\/p>\n

The performance took place in a smaller theatre setting, creating an intimate environment that allowed for direct interaction. performing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis time around, it was important for me to curate the show in a way that being raw and vulnerable opens a doorway for the audience to feel something,\u201d he said. \u201cNow this show feels like an act of service.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the performance, Morrison revisited his Broadway beginnings, sharing stories about his early career and performing \u201cWithout Love\u201d and \u201cYou Can\u2019t Stop the Beat\u201d from \u201cHairspray\u201d as he reflected on learning and his first breakout role as a young actor.<\/p>\n

For Morrison, the measure of a successful performance has changed. \u201cIt’s not about impressing people,\u201d he said. It\u2019s about connection.\u201d He added that the most meaningful feedback comes when audience members describe how moments from the show resonated with their own lives.<\/p>\n

Speaking to students considering theatre, Morrison acknowledged the field\u2019s competitiveness but emphasized the transferable skills it develops. \u201cIt’s a job that requires all of you while you\u2019re doing it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
