column_padding_type=&#8221;default&#8221; gradient_type=&#8221;default&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221; text_direction=&#8221;default&#8221;]Scooter\u2019s campaign was led by his owner, Izzy Williams, who said the idea behind his run was to bring pets together across campus regardless of species.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScooter, as a cold-blooded animal on campus, really feels the divide between warm-blooded and cold-blooded pets,\u201d Izzy says jokingly. \u201cHe thought it was a good idea to rise to the occasion and unify all pets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Izzy, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eckerd.edu\/management\/business-administration\/\">business administration<\/a> student from Jacksonville, Florida, managed Scooter\u2019s campaign and currently serves as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studentsofeckerd.org\/\">Eckerd College Organization of Students<\/a> vice president of financial affairs. She is also running for ECOS president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis favorite activity is basking in the sun,\u201d Izzy adds. \u201cAnd a lot of Eckerd students also love to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theonlinecurrent.com\/news\/eckerd-s-first-pet-president-has-been-elected-and-it-s-a-bearded-dragon\/article_696b58ca-e2b2-408f-883e-61d4d1e040d4.html\"> campaign season featured several pets<\/a> competing for the title, including a hamster named Franklin. At the ECOS town hall, Franklin rolled across the room on a small exercise ball while the ECOS cabinets shared updates.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column reading my slides, I saw this little ball roll across the floor out of the corner of my eye,\u201d Izzy recalls. \u201cEveryone started giggling, and I looked over and realized it was Franklin.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moments like that, Izzy explains, are exactly what make this event special.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row
