Eastman III on the FSU Tragedy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Dear Eckerd community,<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>All of us are deeply saddened by the shooting at Florida State University&#8217;s Strozier Library. Our thoughts are with the victims, and our hearts go out to them, their families and friends, and the entire FSU community.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The safety of everyone on this campus is our No. 1 priority, and Eckerd&#8217;s emergency response plan includes a close collaboration with the St. Petersburg Police Department. That plan works best with your cooperation and assistance. It&#8217;s simple: If you see something, say something. Contact the Campus Safety Department at\u00a0<a href=\"tel:727.864.8260\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">727-864-8260<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Please continue to cooperate with check-in procedures at our front entrance, which allow us to monitor closely those coming and going from campus. In addition, safety training resources are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eckerd.edu\/safety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Campus Safety website<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Eckerd College <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eckerd.edu\/outreach-and-support\/\">Office of Outreach Services<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"tel:%28727.864.8407\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(727-864-8407<\/a>) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eckerd.edu\/counseling\/\">Counseling Center<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"tel:%28727.864.8248\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(727-864-8248<\/a>) are available for those who may have had friends or family involved in last night&#8217;s tragedy, or those who simply want to talk.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Even as we learn more about this tragedy, let&#8217;s keep working together for the safety of us all.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Donald R.
