She says she loves her position because she gets to work closely with the diversity groups on campus \u201cand just make sure that everyone feels comfortable and safe at our events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael Jerome, a first-year chemistry student double-minoring in <a href=\"\/human-development\/\">human development<\/a> and <a href=\"\/spanish\/\">Spanish<\/a> from Annapolis, Maryland, is the director of public relations. Students serve as directors of diversity and inclusion, comedy and novelty, public relations, traditional events, holidays, small concerts, large concerts, and graphic design\/art.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey get to actually work with a tour manager; they get to learn how to set up green rooms for artists; they learn the tech requirements, the personal hospitality requirements \u2026 bringing in a concert or a national artist is way beyond the hour and a half that everyone sees, and that\u2019s what Palmetto does,\u201d Patterson says.<\/p>\n<p>Student directors at Palmetto Productions have brought some big names to campus throughout the years. Lova\u2019s favorites feature Dirty Heads and T-Pain. But, just this Spring 2022 Semester alone, students have had the opportunity to see comedian and actor Jen Kober from <em>American Horror Story<\/em> and <em>The Purge<\/em>; mentalist duo The Evasons; and the highly anticipated spring concert artist Tai Verdes, singer of the 2021 hit \u201cA-O-K.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The goal of Palmetto Productions, as stated by its current and former directors, is to bring the community together.
