Our Pre-College programs are designed to challenge your imagination and encourage your creative growth.

Eckerd’s dedication to the liberal arts means our programs focus on creative, innovative curriculum in the liberal arts tradition. With a strong emphasis on small classes, our exceptional faculty knows and cares about the success of every student.

All courses are six-day, five-night residential programs unless otherwise noted.

June 16-21, 2019

Spend your week creating art in our newly constructed 33,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Nielsen Center for Visual Arts and exploring St. Petersburg. Begin each day working in the studio hand building with clay as you learn the aspects of forming and firing. In the afternoons, you’ll explore the thriving St. Petersburg arts district, meet with local sculptors, painters, glass workers and street artists to explore ways in which the arts impact the larger community.

June 16-21, 2019

Explore the human side of the impending environmental crisis through discussions and activities rooted in the humanitieshistory, literature, film, cultural studies and philosophy. Throughout the program, you will examine how our culture shapes our relationship to the natural world.

June 9-14, 2019

Participate in our hands-on curriculum in the field, on the water and in the lab, using the same equipment that faculty and undergraduates use, as you explore all our waterfront location has to offer. Marine Science on Florida’s Gulf Coast is adopted from our undergraduate curriculum for Marine Science majors.

June 16-21, 2019

Develop and hone your writing talents in poetry, fiction and nonfiction. You’ll generate new work, examine your writing through small-group workshops and explore what it means to be a part of a larger literary community. Developed from the creative writing major at Eckerd, this program is student-centered, focusing on the creation and exploration of your art.
