Incorporate service into self and community

Eckerd College requires students to participate in at least 40 hours of service work prior to graduation. The Office of Service-Learning aids in the facilitation of this requirement, and also gives students the opportunity to be innovators and create their own service-learning projects and activities.

We move beyond service at the emotional level and push students to think about how they can incorporate service to self and community in both their work and livelihood.

Partner with community agencies, faculty and campus groups

In addition to our link between academics and community, we provide students with opportunities to partner with community agencies in reciprocal service-learning, collaborate with faculty in an effort to integrate community service with academic coursework, and support campus groups by organizing service activities that relate to their work and mission.

Eckerd College students have engaged in incredible service work over the years. The following map highlights domestic and international service trips from previous years. Be sure to check out the photos!
