Eckerd Establishes Environmental Policy By Signing Talloires Declaration
On Wednesday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. in Fox Hall, Eckerd College will join over 300 colleges and universities worldwide that have established an environmental policy for higher education when Dean Lloyd Chapin signs the Talloires Declaration.
Following the signing, Talloires Declaration author Anthony Cortese will talk about "The Critical Role of Higher Education in Creating a Healthy, Just, and Sustainable Society." Mr. Cortese is the president of Second Nature, a nonprofit organization with a mission to catalyze a worldwide effort to make healthy, just, and environmentally sustainable action a foundation of all learning and practices in higher education. This event is sponsored by the Environmental Studies Department and ECOS.
