2011 PEL Honors Program Students

Eight students from the 2011 Program for Experienced Learners (PEL) Honors Program participated in a panel presentation titled "Wisdom of the Ages" at the 39th Southern Regional Honors Council Conference held in Little Rock, Arkansas, March 31-April 2, 2011.

Papers written and presented by Danny Quattlebaum, Brent Jowers, Bernadette Cooper, Lisa Bourn, Tina Rodriguez, Jen Vreeland, Angie Jones, and Ron Turner addressed topics relating to scholarship and citizenship.

Catherine Griggs, Program Coordinator and Associate Professor of American Studies, and PEL Academic Director Margret Skaftadottir accompanied the students. The two presented a panel on "Honors and Adult Students."

The PEL Honors Program is designed for students who appreciate challenging coursework, are willing to take on in-depth projects, enjoy discussing complicated material, and engaging in scholarly discussions. Click here for more information about Eckerd College's Program for Experienced Learners.

The Southern Regional Honors Council provides students the opportunity to interact with honors program students from eleven Southeastern states and Puerto Rico.
