I Have a Liberal Arts Education, Now What?

posted on 08/14/2012

This past April, rising senior and Ford Scholar Sarah Malhotra '13 posed the question, "I Have a Liberal Arts Education, Now What?" to her fellow students as part of the 25th Annual Ford Forum. Sarah, who is majoring in international relations & global affairs, is interested in the cross-cultural value of a liberal arts education.

As part of her presentation, Sarah referenced "The Value and Impact of the College Experience: A Comparative Study," an alumni survey conducted by an independent research organization and released in November 2011 by the Annapolis Group, a consortium of the leading U.S. liberal arts colleges, of which Eckerd College is a member. The study compared Annapolis Group college alumni to graduates of the nation's top 50 public universities.

In the spirit of Liberal Arts Education Week (August 12-18, 2012), Eckerd College shares Sarah Malhotra's Ford Scholar presentation, the results of the Annapolis Group survey and more commentary about the liberal arts:
