37 Eckerd Student-Athletes Named to SSC Commissioner's Fall 2012 Honor Roll

posted on 02/27/2013

Including the sports of men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball, a total of 37 Eckerd College student-athletes were recognized as part of the 2012 Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll announced this week.

SSC Honor Roll

Around the SSC, a total of 438 student-athletes were selected from the fall semester. Participants in men's and women's cross country were also eligible for the honor roll.

To be eligible for the SSC Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00.

In addition, 76 SSC student-athletes carried a perfect 4.0 GPA for the fall semester, including EC men's soccer senior Matt Duffy '13 (Economics) and women's soccer sophomore Cleo Warner '15 (Environmental Studies/Literature) in the exclusive list.

Having won 79 national championships since the league was founded in 1975, the SSC's student-athletes have also proven to be successful in the classrooms. The NCAA recently announced that, for the sixth consecutive year, the Sunshine State Conference led all 23 Division II conferences with an Academic Success Rate of 86 percent.
