It's that time of year again when the Times Festival of Reading envelops the campus and draws thousands of booklovers to Eckerd College. The 11th Annual Times Festival of Reading at Eckerd College takes place on Sunday, November 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Scheduled authors include Walter Anderson (Meant To Be Me), Carol Higgins Clark (Popped), Mary Higgins Clark (Kitchen Privileges), Gail Collins (America's Women: Four Hundred Years of Dolls, Drudges, Helpmates and Heroines), Tim Dorsey (Florida Roadkill), Eric Marcus (Making Gay History), Stuart Woods (Short Forever) and others. A complete list and a schedule are available in the October 30th edition of the St. Petersburg Times Weekend section or visit www.festivalofreading.com, a link from the Eckerd College website homepage, www.eckerd.edu.

Eckerd community authors will be present at the Eckerd College Sponsor Booth in Hough Quad from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. These include Bill Felice, associate professor of political science; Tom Hallock, visiting assistant professor of literature; Carolyn Johnston, professor of American studies and history; Yolanda Molina-Gavilan, associate professor of Spanish; Jamsheed Marker, diplomat in residence; Lisa Rose, visiting assistant professor of rhetoric; and ASPEC members Bob Stoffels, Betty Williams and Maurice J. Williams. The EC Sponsor Booth will be staffed by representatives sharing information about Program for Experienced Learners (PEL), Leadership Development Institute (LDI), Senior College, Eckerd College Conference Center and Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College (ASPEC). Remember to pick up a PEL bookmark!

Admission to the festival, which includes author talks, the children's area and entertainment are absolutely free but come prepared with your checkbook anyway. Books and educational toys will be available for sale, just in time for holiday gift giving. Featured authors will sign their works following their book talks.
