Hi there!

My name is Alexandra Porzillo (but you can call me Alex), and I am so happy to be your admissions counselor! I was originally born in the Florida Keys, but grew up in Annapolis, MD. Being born in the Keys, I always wanted to return to Florida and explore the ‘Sunshine State’. I can only imagine that our location is one of the many reasons why Eckerd College has caught your attention. And aren’t you lucky it has, as St. Petersburg boasts an average of 361 sunny days a year! Not only can Eckerd offer you a sky full of sunshine, but an endless list of opportunities to grow as a student, and a person.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Tampa, where I discovered my passion for meeting new people and building meaningful relationships with those new faces. At Eckerd, you will be known by name and face, not by merely a number. This commitment to our students and each other can be seen through our faculty mentorship program. From the day you step foot on Eckerd’s campus, you will have a faculty mentor to help guide you through your interests, major possibilities, study abroad plans, internship opportunities, and your course selection. Our small-knit community is the perfect place to explore this crazy thing called adulthood, while embracing your independence and individuality.

Whether you have questions about your application requirements, what courses Eckerd has to offer, or even the best beach to go to, I’m just a phone call or email away. If you have any questions at all, or just want to chat, don’t hesitate to reach out. I hope our paths cross during my travels this fall throughout New York and New Jersey, but until then, cheers!
