See the world

Choose from 300+ destinations to study abroad

Imagine studying the ocean from a 134-foot two-masted ship. Or watching the fireworks on Chinese New Year from a rooftop in Shanghai. Or browsing the colorful stalls of London’s Covent Garden Market after class.

Every year, hundreds of Eckerd students set off for parts unknown. Why not join them?

We’re ranked No. 2 among U.S. colleges for short-term study abroad by the Institute for International Education!
At our London Study Center, you can study the history and culture of Britain and see world-class art and theatre while living in a 200-year-old Georgian row house.

Three-week travel terms

Most Eckerd students study abroad during the three-week Winter Term in January or Spring-Into-Summer Term in May. We can also arrange for semester- or year-long study at dozens of universities, from France to Fiji.

Eckerd students can study economics, arts, culture and more in Cuba. Also, a relationship forged with the University of Havana allows students and faculty to study Cuba’s marine environment.

Study abroad and still graduate in four years

All study abroad courses earn academic credit toward your degree (except our alternative spring break trips) and language immersion trips help you refine your modern language skills. Your faculty mentor can help map out an academic plan that includes study abroad.

Want more study abroad?

Want more? Check out our alternative spring break service trips, which take students to places like Mexico, Guyana, Iceland, Panama and Cuba. Do good, feel good, travel.
