Admission Counselor

Hi, my name is Cydney Socias and welcome to Eckerd! I’m so happy to be your Admission Counselor and guide you through the application process.

I recently graduated from Smith College, a liberal arts school in New England, and double majored in Education & Child Study and Spanish. I know exactly how invigorating a liberal arts curriculum can be. During my time as a student, I studied and researched student experiences of belongingness in higher education. Now, as your admission counselor, I hope to help you find a home at Eckerd! Let’s connect about study abroad (I studied in Spain), extracurricular activities, student research opportunities, or anything else you’re wondering about.

I’m originally from the Tampa Bay area and am so excited to welcome you to my favorite part of the Sunshine State. In my free time, I enjoy discovering new coffee shops, recreating my favorite of my grandmother’s recipes (currently perfecting ropa vieja), and reading contemporary or literary fiction. I can’t wait to hear from you!
