Theatre for Social Change

Registration information for the Summer 2023 program will be available in January 2023.

Explore how theatre amplifies voices, expresses passions, and highlights topics that matter to our community.

Eckerd College is thrilled to partner with Asolo Repertory Theatre (Sarasota, FL) to launch a new pre-college program in summer 2023. Blending the strengths of our institutions, Theatre for Social Change offers tools that allow students to experience social-emotional learning and creative problem solving.

In this dynamic intensive, Young Artists will work with professional theatre artists to devise stories in order to affect social change – adapting familiar tales into epics of today. This week of creating, collaborating, and connecting challenges participants to use what is important to them in order to grow works of art and plant seeds of change.

Take a look at our sample schedule to get a sense of the daily activities.
