Tim Scovanner ’11 Pavilion

Tim Scovanner was an Eckerd alumnus who graduated in 2011 as a philosophy major. Like many Eckerd students, some of Tim’s happiest days were spent on South Beach and Kappa Field.

Tim’s family has made a generous gift to enhance South Beach, a cherished part of Eckerd’s campus, and memorialize their son’s life. The new pavilion will replace a small wooden structure to better serve student needs. With four simple concrete columns to withstand tropical weather and a broad cantilevered roof with solar panels, this shelter will provide abundant shade and a large outdoor covered space for students to learn and socialize at the water’s edge of campus—the heart of Eckerd social life.

The Eckerd College Board of Trustees has offered to give $250,000 if the Eckerd community contributes the same amount by December 31, 2023, which will provide the funds to make this long-planned project a reality.

Making an online gift to Eckerd is easy, secure and convenient. After your gift is processed, you will receive a confirmation email and receipt.
