Registration has opened for the 12th Annual Eckerd College Writers’ Conference: Writers in Paradise, Jan. 16-23, 2016. Applications will be accepted through Nov. 15. The application fee is $25.

It is a selective admissions process based on writing samples and limited to fewer than 100 attendees. The conference offers a new and better understanding of the writing craft and solid ideas about how to find an agent and get published. The conference fee is $875.

Faculty and lecturers will include: Pulitzer Prize winner Gilbert King, conference Co-Founder and best-selling author Dennis Lehane, conference Co-Director Les Standiford, MacArthur “Genius Grant” poet Campbell McGrath, Florida Poet Laureate Peter Meinke, Andre Dubus III, Ann Hood, Laura Lippman, Laura Williams McCaffrey, Aimee Nezhukumatathil, Stewart O’Nan, Scott Ward, Sterling Watson and more.

“This is a hands-on, interactive conference designed to offer practical help to talented writers in reaching their intended audiences,” says Standiford.  “Our faculty are both highly accomplished writers and down-to-earth individuals who have no qualms about sharing their own secrets for success.”

Located on picturesque Boca Ciega Bay, the Writers in Paradise conference offers an intimate eight-day experience of workshops, roundtables, panel discussions, Q&As, readings, book signings and receptions with faculty and guest speakers.

At least 20 competitive fellowships and scholarships are available, many specifically for current MFA students and recent MFA graduates (2010-2015) and members of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs.
