Explore the creation, meaning and perpetuation of gender
The major seeks to provide opportunities for developing the knowledge, abilities, appreciation and motivations which are liberating for men and women. It is also an inquiry into women’s material, cultural and economic production, their collective undertakings and self-descriptions.
Students majoring in women’s and gender studies have been among the honor graduates of the college.
Some graduates have continued their study in graduate school such as Yale, Sarah Lawrence College and the University of South Florida. Others have pursued careers in business, nonprofit organizations and law.
